Common Causes

  • CD PROJEKT RED servers down or under maintenance
  • VPN or proxy blocking the launcher connection
  • Windows Firewall or antivirus blocking REDlauncher
  • DNS resolution failure
  • Corrupted REDlauncher files

How to Fix It

  1. Check server status

Go to the CD PROJEKT RED server status page or Downdetector.
If servers are down, wait 15-30 minutes and try again.
Follow @CDPROJEKTRED on Twitter/X for outage updates.

  2. Disable VPN or proxy

If you use a VPN, disconnect it completely.
Open Windows Settings > Network & Internet > Proxy and make sure no proxy is configured.
Relaunch Cyberpunk 2077 and try again.

  3. Add REDlauncher to firewall exceptions

Open Windows Defender Firewall > Allow an app through Firewall.
Click Change Settings, then Allow another app.
Browse to REDlauncher.exe and add it.
Temporarily disable your antivirus and retest.

  4. Flush DNS cache

Press Win+R, type cmd, and run as Administrator.
Type: ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
Restart your router and launch the game again.

  5. Verify or reinstall game files

In Steam, right-click Cyberpunk 2077 > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity.
If on GOG, use the Verify/Repair option in GOG Galaxy.
If errors persist, uninstall and reinstall the game.
