FL

hOmeLabs Dehumidifier

Severity: Minor

What it means

hOmeLabs dehumidifier FL or bucket-full indicator means the water collection bucket is full.
Empty the bucket, reinsert it firmly until it clicks, and the unit will resume automatically.

How to Fix It

  1. Remove and empty the water bucket

Pull the water collection bucket out from the front of the unit.
Take it to a sink and empty completely.
Rinse and wipe dry before reinserting.

  2. Reinsert the bucket firmly

Push the bucket all the way back into the unit until it clicks or seats flush.
If the bucket is even slightly out of position, the float switch inside will continue to read full and FL will persist.

  3. Check and clear the float switch

The float switch inside the bucket chamber rises with the water level.
Mineral deposits or debris can cause it to stick in the raised position.
Rinse the float switch area with clean water and gently move the float up and down to free it.

  4. Connect a continuous drainage hose

hOmeLabs dehumidifiers have a gravity drain port at the rear.
Attach a standard garden hose fitting and run the hose to a floor drain or sink.
With continuous drainage active, the bucket never fills and FL will not trigger.

  5. Ensure the drain hose runs downhill

Continuous gravity drainage only works if the hose runs continuously downhill from the drain port to the drain destination.
A hose that rises at any point will prevent drainage and the bucket will fill again.

Frequently Asked Questions

hOmeLabs dehumidifier FL error but bucket is completely dry — cause?

A dry bucket with FL showing means the float switch is stuck in the raised position.
Clean the float switch area and check the float moves freely.
If it does not move, the switch assembly needs replacing.

How much water does a hOmeLabs 50-pint dehumidifier collect per day?

In high-humidity conditions (80% RH, 27°C), a 50-pint hOmeLabs dehumidifier can collect up to 50 pints (about 23 litres) per day.
In moderate conditions (60% RH), collection is much lower.

Can I use a pump to drain a hOmeLabs dehumidifier automatically?

hOmeLabs dehumidifiers use gravity drainage only — they do not have a built-in pump.
A third-party condensate pump can be installed on the drain hose outlet to pump water uphill to a distant drain.
