2110-3127

Nintendo Nintendo Switch

Severity: Moderate

What Does This Error Mean?

Error 2110-3127 means your Nintendo Switch cannot find the Wi-Fi network it is looking for. The wireless access point (your router) is either out of range, turned off, or the Switch's saved network settings no longer match. It is a Wi-Fi connection failure at the detection stage — before a password is even entered.

Affected Models

  • Nintendo Switch
  • Nintendo Switch Lite
  • Nintendo Switch OLED

Common Causes

  • The Switch is too far from the router and cannot detect its signal
  • The router was changed, replaced, or had its network name (SSID) changed
  • The router is temporarily offline or restarting
  • The saved network profile on the Switch has outdated information
  • The router's 5 GHz band is set to broadcast a different name than the 2.4 GHz band the Switch is searching for

How to Fix It

  1. Confirm your router is on and broadcasting. Check that the router's Wi-Fi indicator light is on. Try connecting a phone to the same network to confirm it is working.

If your router is off or restarting, the Switch will not see the network at all.

  2. Move the Switch closer to the router. Bring the Switch to the same room as your router and try connecting again.

The Switch's Wi-Fi has a shorter range than most smartphones. Distance and walls both reduce signal strength.

  3. Delete the saved network on the Switch and reconnect from scratch. Go to System Settings > Internet > Internet Settings, select the network, choose Delete Settings, then set it up again.

If your router's name or password changed at any point, the old saved settings will no longer work.

  4. Restart your router. Unplug it from power for 30 seconds and plug it back in. Wait two full minutes before testing the Switch.

A router that has been running for weeks without a restart can develop connectivity issues.

  5. Check your router's SSID broadcast settings. Log in to your router's settings page (usually 192.168.1.1) and confirm the network name (SSID) is set to visible and not hidden.

If the network is set to 'hidden', the Switch will not detect it automatically. You can connect to a hidden network manually under Internet Settings > Manual Setup.

When to Call a Professional

Error 2110-3127 is a network configuration issue, not a hardware fault. If your Switch cannot find any Wi-Fi networks at all — even when next to the router — the Wi-Fi antenna may be damaged. Nintendo offers repair services at nintendo.com/repair for hardware-level Wi-Fi issues.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a wireless access point?

A wireless access point is the device that broadcasts your Wi-Fi signal. In most homes, this is your router. The Switch connects to it wirelessly, just like your phone or laptop does. Error 2110-3127 means the Switch searched for your router's Wi-Fi signal and could not find it.

My phone connects to Wi-Fi. Why can't my Switch find the network?

Phones have more powerful Wi-Fi radios than the Nintendo Switch. Your phone may connect from a distance that the Switch cannot manage. Also, if your router broadcasts both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz under the same name, your phone may be using 5 GHz while the Switch struggles on 2.4 GHz. Try giving each band its own name in your router settings.

Can the Switch connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot from my phone?

Yes. You can use your phone's mobile hotspot as a Wi-Fi source for the Switch. Go to System Settings > Internet > Internet Settings on the Switch and connect to your phone's hotspot like any other Wi-Fi network. This is useful when your home router has problems or when you are away from home.
