2110-4091

Nintendo Nintendo Switch

Severity: Moderate

What Does This Error Mean?

Error 2110-4091 means your Nintendo Switch cannot find the Wi-Fi network it is trying to connect to. The network name (SSID) it has saved no longer matches what your router is broadcasting. Updating the network settings on your Switch will fix this.

Affected Models

  • Nintendo Switch
  • Nintendo Switch Lite
  • Nintendo Switch OLED

Common Causes

  • Your router was replaced or reset and is now broadcasting a different network name
  • Your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) was changed on the router
  • Your router's 2.4GHz band was disabled, but the Switch was connected to it
  • The Switch moved out of range of the router and lost the network
  • The router is turned off or is malfunctioning

How to Fix It

  1. Make sure your router is on and working. Check that the Wi-Fi indicator light on your router is lit. Try connecting another device like your phone to confirm the Wi-Fi is working.

If other devices also cannot connect, the issue is with your router, not your Switch.

  2. On your Switch, delete the saved network and set it up again. Go to System Settings > Internet > Internet Settings, find the saved network, and delete it. Then search for and reconnect to your network.

If your router name or password changed, the Switch will not find the old network.

  3. Restart your router. Unplug it from the wall, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in. Wait 2 minutes for it to fully restart.

A router restart clears temporary errors and refreshes the wireless broadcast.

  4. Check if your router uses both a 2.4GHz and 5GHz band. The Switch supports both. If the network you saved was on 5GHz and that band is now off, the Switch cannot find it.

Try connecting to the 2.4GHz network name — it has better range and more reliable connectivity for Switch.

  5. If your network does not appear in the Switch's list at all, try moving the Switch closer to the router. Networks with weak signals may not appear in the scan list.

The Switch's Wi-Fi scanner only shows networks with a strong enough signal to connect.

When to Call a Professional

Error 2110-4091 does not require professional help. If your Switch cannot detect any Wi-Fi networks at all in Settings, the Wi-Fi antenna may be damaged. Contact Nintendo Support at support.nintendo.com for a repair estimate.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Wi-Fi name did not change. Why can't my Switch find it?

The router may have restarted and temporarily changed its broadcast settings. Try restarting the router and then scanning for networks again on the Switch. If the network still does not appear, move the Switch closer to the router.

Should I connect my Switch to 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi?

For most users, 2.4GHz is the better choice for the Switch. It has a longer range and passes through walls better than 5GHz. 5GHz is faster but only works well when you are close to the router.

Can I use a wired internet connection with my Nintendo Switch?

Yes, but only in TV mode (docked). You need a USB-C to Ethernet adapter or a USB-A to Ethernet adapter plugged into the dock. Wired connections are faster and more stable — great for online gaming when docked.
