NP-32062-3
Sony PlayStation
Severity: MinorWhat Does This Error Mean?
NP-32062-3 means your PlayStation cannot verify your PlayStation Plus subscription. This can happen when your subscription has expired, your payment failed, or PSN cannot check your membership status. You will not be able to access PS Plus games or online multiplayer until it is resolved.
Affected Models
- PlayStation 4
- PlayStation 4 Slim
- PlayStation 4 Pro
- PlayStation 5
Common Causes
- Your PlayStation Plus subscription has expired and has not been renewed
- A payment method on your account has expired or was declined during auto-renewal
- PSN is temporarily unable to verify your subscription status due to a server issue
- You are signed into a profile that does not have an active PS Plus subscription
- Your account has been suspended or restricted by Sony
How to Fix It
-
Check your PlayStation Plus status. Go to Settings > Account Management > Account Information > PlayStation Subscriptions. Check if your subscription is active and when it renews.
This is the fastest way to confirm whether your PS Plus subscription is the cause.
-
Check your payment method. Go to Settings > Account Management > Account Information > Payment Methods. Make sure you have a valid, unexpired credit card or PayPal account linked.
If your card expired, add a new one and manually renew your subscription.
-
Sign out of PSN and sign back in. Go to Settings > Account Management > Sign Out. Then sign back in. This refreshes your account status from Sony's servers.
Sometimes the console displays an old cached subscription status that does not reflect your current membership.
-
Check PSN server status at status.playstation.com. If the PlayStation Store or Account Management services are down, your subscription status cannot be verified. Wait for them to recover.
Subscription verification requires PSN to be available. Outages can temporarily trigger NP-32062-3.
-
Redeem a new PS Plus code or purchase a subscription. If your subscription lapsed, go to the PlayStation Store and subscribe to PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra, or Premium.
Monthly subscriptions are the cheapest option. Annual subscriptions offer significant savings.
When to Call a Professional
If your account has been suspended, contact PlayStation Support directly. Visit support.playstation.com or call PlayStation Support to discuss account restrictions. Billing disputes should also be handled through PlayStation Support, not your bank.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I still play my PS Plus game library after my subscription expires?
No. Games you downloaded through PS Plus are locked when your subscription expires. They will reappear in your library if you renew. Any games you purchased separately at a discount with PS Plus remain yours permanently.
Why did my PS Plus auto-renewal fail?
Auto-renewal fails when the payment method on your account is expired, has insufficient funds, or was removed. You will receive an email from Sony when this happens. Update your payment method in Account Management to restore your subscription.
Does someone else in my household need PS Plus to play online?
Not if your PlayStation is set as your Primary Console. On a PS4 or PS5 set as your primary console, other users can access your PS Plus benefits — including online play and your PS Plus game library. Set it in Settings > Account Management > Console Sharing and Offline Play.
