Error 105

Levoit Humidifier

Severity: Moderate

What it means

Levoit Error 105 means the built-in humidity sensor cannot be read.
Unplug the unit for 60 seconds and restart.
If Error 105 returns immediately, the sensor has failed and the unit needs warranty replacement.

How to Fix It

  1. Unplug and wait 60 seconds

Disconnect the humidifier from mains power completely.
Wait a full 60 seconds before plugging back in.
This resets the internal electronics and can clear a temporary sensor fault.

  2. Check for condensation on the sensor

If the humidifier was placed in a very cold room or near a cold surface, condensation on the humidity sensor can cause a temporary false error.
Move the unit to a room-temperature location, wait 30 minutes, then restart.

  3. Clear the humidity sensor opening

Levoit models with an exposed humidity sensor port (small opening on the side) can accumulate dust or debris.
Gently blow air into the sensor opening to clear any blockage.
Do not insert anything into the opening.

  4. Run in manual mode to bypass the sensor

Some Levoit models allow a fixed manual mist level instead of using the auto-humidity sensor.
Press the Mist Level button to set a fixed output.
If the unit works in manual mode, the sensor is faulty but the unit still operates.

  5. Contact Levoit for warranty replacement

Error 105 is a hardware fault — the humidity sensor has failed internally and is not user-serviceable.
    Contact Levoit support at support.levoit.com.
Units within the 1-year warranty period are eligible for replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I still use my Levoit humidifier with Error 105 showing?

If your model supports manual mist level control, you can continue using the unit without the auto-humidity function.
The unit will not self-regulate humidity, but it will still produce mist at the set level.

Levoit Error 105 appeared after cleaning — did I cause it?

Error 105 after cleaning usually means water entered the sensor area.
Allow the unit to dry completely with the cap off for 24 hours before restarting.
If the error persists after drying, the sensor was damaged by water.

Which Levoit models can show Error 105?

Error 105 appears on Levoit OasisMist, Dual 200S, LV600HH, and other smart models with built-in humidity sensors.
Check the error code section of your model's manual to confirm the exact meaning.
