E02

Breville Pressure Cooker

Severity: Moderate

What it means

E02 means the Breville Fast Slow Pro's pressure sensor has reported an abnormal reading or lost signal.
Without reliable pressure data, the unit cannot safely manage a pressure cook cycle and stops operation.
A blocked sensor port or damaged lid is the most common hardware cause.

Affected Models

  • Breville Fast Slow Pro BPR700
  • Breville Fast Slow Pro BPR600

How to Fix It

  1. Release pressure and unplug

If the unit is in a pressure cycle, release all steam using the steam release valve before touching the lid.
Press Stop, then unplug from the wall and wait 10 minutes.

  2. Clean the pressure sensor port on the lid

The pressure sensor port is a small opening on the underside of the lid.
Use a toothpick or soft bristle brush to gently clear any dried food or grease from the port opening.
Rinse the lid under warm water and dry completely before reattaching.

  3. Inspect and replace the sealing ring if needed

A sealing ring that leaks pressure will cause the sensor to read abnormal values.
Remove the sealing ring and look for cracks, hard spots, or deformation.
Replace the ring if it is more than 12 months old or shows any visible wear.

  4. Check the steam release valve for blockages

Remove the steam release valve, rinse under warm running water, and check it moves freely before reattaching.
A partially blocked valve can cause abnormal pressure readings.

  5. Contact Breville support if E02 continues

If E02 returns after cleaning the sensor port and replacing the sealing ring, the pressure sensor is likely faulty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is E02 the same as a NoPr error on other pressure cookers?

They are related but different.
NoPr (on Instant Pot) means the unit failed to reach pressure within the allowed time.
E02 on Breville means the pressure sensor itself is faulty or blocked.
E02 can prevent pressure cooking even when the lid is properly sealed.
