LId
Breville Pressure Cooker
Severity: ModerateWhat it means
LId on the Breville Fast Slow Pro means the appliance cannot confirm the lid is properly closed and locked.
It will not start a pressure program until the lid is securely in place.
The most common cause is the lid not being twisted fully into the locked position.
Affected Models
- Breville Fast Slow Pro BPR700
- Breville Fast Slow Pro BPR600
How to Fix It
-
Remove and reattach the lid
Lift the lid fully off the pot.
Place it back on, aligning the lid handle with the unlock marker, then turn it clockwise until it points to the lock marker.
The lid should sit flush with no gap around the rim.
Try starting the program again. -
Inspect the sealing ring
Remove the silicone sealing ring from the inner rim of the lid.
Check for tears, stiffness from food residue, or deformation.
Press the ring firmly back into its groove all the way around.
A displaced ring prevents the lid from sitting correctly. -
Clean the lid locking groove
Food debris in the locking channel on the pot rim can prevent the lid from turning fully into the lock position.
Wipe the channel with a damp cloth and dry it before reattaching the lid. -
Check the lid locking tabs for damage
Inspect the plastic locking tabs on the underside of the lid and the corresponding slots on the pot.
If a tab is cracked or worn, the lid will feel loose even when turned to the lock position.
A damaged lid requires replacement. -
Contact Breville support
If LId persists with a visually intact lid that turns fully to the lock position, the lid detection sensor may be faulty.
Contact Breville support at breville.com/support for warranty service or a replacement lid.
