How to Fix It
-
Press Cancel and unplug the unit
Press the Cancel button on the display, then unplug the Ninja Foodi from the wall outlet.
Wait 5 minutes to allow the internal components to reset fully. -
Inspect the inner pot and base for debris
Remove the inner pot.
Check the inside of the base unit for any food debris, liquid spills, or residue around the heating plate.
Clean with a dry cloth.
Food or moisture near the sensor contacts can cause false Er1 readings. -
Ensure the inner pot is correctly seated
Place the inner pot back in the unit, pressing it firmly down so it sits flat and level on the heating base.
A tilted inner pot can cause uneven heat distribution and trigger sensor errors. -
Plug back in and test with water
Plug the unit back in.
Add 1 cup of water to the inner pot and run a short Steam or Pressure Cook cycle to test whether Er1 reappears.
If the cycle completes without error, the reset was successful. -
Contact Ninja support if Er1 persists
If Er1 appears on every cooking attempt after a reset, the temperature sensor may be faulty.
Contact Ninja customer support at ninjakitchen.com/support — under warranty, a replacement unit is typically offered.
