Er3
Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker
Severity: CriticalWhat it means
Er3 means the Ninja Foodi reached an unsafe internal temperature and shut off to protect itself and prevent a hazard.
It is caused by insufficient liquid in the pot, a blocked steam vent, or operating the unit in an area with restricted airflow around the base.

How to Fix It
-
Cancel cooking and release pressure safely
Press Cancel immediately.
If pressurised, use Quick Release to vent steam.
Do not attempt to open the lid while steam is still releasing. -
Unplug and allow to cool for 15 minutes
Unplug the Ninja Foodi and place it on an open, heat-resistant surface with at least 15 cm of clear space on all sides.
Allow it to cool for a minimum of 15 minutes before inspecting. -
Check the liquid level
Er3 is most often caused by the pot running dry during cooking.
Remove the inner pot and verify there is sufficient liquid.
Add at least 1 cup of water or broth before restarting. -
Clear the air vents on the base
Ensure the ventilation slots on the sides and bottom of the Ninja Foodi base unit are not blocked by a kitchen towel, wall, or cabinet.
The unit must have free airflow to prevent overheating. -
Power reset and test
Once cool, plug back in, add liquid, and run a short test cycle.
If Er3 returns without an obvious cause such as low liquid, the thermal cutout or temperature sensor may be faulty — contact Ninja support.
