Err
Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker
Severity: ModerateWhat it means
Err is a general error code on the Ninja Foodi that signals the unit detected a fault but cannot assign it to a specific sensor.
It is often a transient error that clears with a power reset.
Common causes include a momentary power fluctuation, a loose inner pot, or an incomplete lid seal.

How to Fix It
-
Press Cancel and unplug the unit
Press Cancel on the display.
Unplug the Ninja Foodi from the wall outlet and wait 5 minutes.
This clears the unit's error memory and allows the control board to restart cleanly. -
Check the inner pot is correctly seated
Remove the inner pot, wipe the base of the pot and the heating plate, then place the pot back in firmly, ensuring it sits flat and centred.
A tilted or misaligned inner pot can cause a general Err. -
Verify the lid is locked and sealing ring is seated
Attach the pressure lid and lock it clockwise.
Check the sealing ring is fully pressed into its groove.
An unseated ring or unlocked lid during startup can trigger Err. -
Plug back in and run a test cycle
Plug the unit in, add 1 cup of water, and run a short Steam cycle.
If the cycle completes without Err, the issue was transient.
If Err returns immediately, proceed to the next step. -

A persistent Err that returns after a full reset points to an internal fault — a failing control board, sensor, or power component.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Err and Er1, Er2, Er3, Er4?
Er1 through Er4 are specific fault codes pointing to a particular sensor or system.
Err is a non-specific catch-all fault that fires when the unit detects something wrong but cannot determine the exact source.
A power reset resolves Err more often than it resolves the numbered codes.
