No Signal
BenQ Projector
Severity: ModerateWhat it means
BenQ projector No Signal means the selected input has no active video.
Check the input source is correct, the HDMI or VGA cable is firmly connected, and the source device is on and outputting video.
How to Fix It
-
Confirm the source device is active
Ensure the laptop, PC, or media player connected to the projector is powered on and not in sleep mode.
A sleeping device sends no signal and causes No Signal on the projector. -
Select the correct input
Press the Source button on the BenQ remote and cycle through HDMI 1, HDMI 2, VGA, etc. Match the input to the physical connection.
An incorrect input selection always shows No Signal. -
Reseat the connection cable
Unplug the HDMI or VGA cable from both the projector and the source.
Wait 10 seconds and firmly reconnect both ends.
Loose cables are the most common cause of No Signal. -
Enable laptop external display output
On Windows: press Win + P and choose Duplicate or Extend.
On Mac: System Settings > Displays > check Extend Display.
Some laptops suppress external output until prompted. -
Try a different cable or HDMI port
If the BenQ projector has two HDMI inputs, test the second port with the same cable.
Also try a replacement HDMI cable to eliminate a faulty cable as the cause. -
Match the output resolution to the projector
Set the source device resolution to 1080p (1920x1080) at 60Hz.
Resolutions or refresh rates the projector does not support (e.g. 4K on a 1080p projector) can cause No Signal.
