Error Code 1
Dreame Robot Vacuum
Severity: ModerateWhat it means
Dreame Error Code 1 means the LiDAR sensor is blocked or cannot spin freely.
Wipe the transparent LiDAR tower on top of the robot with a soft cloth, make sure nothing is obstructing its rotation, and restart.
Affected Models
- Dreame L10 Pro
- Dreame L20 Ultra
- Dreame X30
- Dreame D10 Plus
- Dreame Bot Z10 Pro
Common Causes
- Dust or debris on the LiDAR sensor window
- Sticker, tape, or packaging material blocking the sensor tower
- Debris preventing the LiDAR tower from rotating
- Hardware sensor failure — rare
How to Fix It
-
Turn the robot off.
Power off the Dreame robot before cleaning the sensor.
-
Locate and clean the LiDAR tower.
Find the cylindrical sensor tower on the top centre of the robot.
Gently wipe its transparent window with a soft, dry microfiber cloth.
Do not press hard — the sensor window can scratch. -
Check the tower can rotate freely.
Gently try to rotate the LiDAR tower by hand — it should spin freely with minimal resistance.
If it is stiff or stuck, check for a piece of debris, a sticker, or a hair wrapped around its base.
Never force the tower. -
Power on and test.
Turn the robot on.
The LiDAR tower should begin spinning within a few seconds as the robot starts up.
Press Clean and confirm Error 1 no longer appears. -
Contact support if error persists.
If the LiDAR tower is clean and spins freely but Error 1 persists, the sensor itself may have failed.
Contact Dreame support — the robot may be under warranty.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the LiDAR sensor on a Dreame robot vacuum do?
LiDAR stands for Light Detection and Ranging. It is a spinning laser sensor that measures distances to walls and furniture, allowing the robot to build an accurate map of your home and navigate without bumping into objects.
Will Dreame Error 1 clear by itself?
No. Error 1 requires manual cleaning of the LiDAR sensor. The robot will not resume navigation until the sensor is confirmed clean and able to rotate.
